Musically Speaking

Welcome to Musically Speaking®!
Musically Speaking® is a unique approach to exploring speech and language through music for young children and their parents and caregivers. Developed by the combined efforts of a speech and language pathologist (SLP) and a mother of a child with speech development issues, the curriculum utilizes music as a vehicle to further develop speech and language skills. Small classes are taught by a licensed SLP or an early childhood special education teacher in a comfortable, non-structured environment.

We developed a musical CD to target common speech and language issues and allow the children to practice techniques learned in the classroom setting at home or in the car. Along with the CD and classroom techniques, parents are supported by a “Behind the Music” newsletter. Musically Speaking® strives to strengthen the important relationship between music, speech and language.
